NEW POLISH FASHION: A CHRONICLE OF DEEP EMOTIONS

Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, June 13, 2026–May 3, 2027
Participation in the first such comprehensive museum presentation of 21st-century Polish fashion. Curated by Marcin Różyc, the exhibition features works by over fifty designers, presenting fashion as a record of social changes, personal experiences, emotions, and contemporary ways of understanding Polish identity.

The exhibition featured my coat made from sajad—Muslim prayer rugs found in a secondhand clothing store in Łódź. The piece comes from the 2017 “Patriotic Clothing” collection and is part of the holdings of the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź. The project references the Sarmatian myth, the Eastern origins of Polish clothing, and the contradictions present in national symbolism. The use of objects associated with Islam confronts the declared “Polishness” with the Turkish, Persian, Armenian, and Tatar influences present in Sarmatian culture.
