Limanka Fashion House in the play “The Apartment”
Welcome to the fascinating world of performative reading, where art becomes not only a performance but also an experience. I’d like to share with you a unique project in which I participated as a member of Limanka Fashion House, responsible for creating the costumes for the play “The Apartment.”
I invite you to watch our adaptation of the play “The Apartment,” created by the Berlin-based New Theater collective. It’s an extraordinary event that combines a reading, a performance, a nativity play, and a ritual. For those who can’t make it, we’ve also prepared a video from the dress rehearsal and the first public reading.
Step across the threshold into the extraordinary world of “The Apartment” with us. Discover how Dom Mody Limanka conjured up unique costumes that lend the characters their one-of-a-kind character. Enter a world of surreal future where trash becomes haute couture and everyday life turns into a performance art piece.
When describing this extraordinary adaptation, it’s worth mentioning the main characters we’ve brought to life:
- Arnold – Tomasz Armada
- Kevin – Kacper Szalecki
- Cynthia – Dominika Ciemięga
- Marion – Sasa Lubińska
The production featured our artist friends:
Star – Monika Dembinska
Patrick - Pamela Bożek
Deardra - Kinga Świtoniak
Sara - Aurelia Mandziuk
Phillip - Jakub Dylewski
Chelsea - Aleksandra Grabarz
Milton - Marcin Polak
Daniel - Dawid Furkot
Discover the performance “Mieszkanie,” in which the characters try to devise their own recipe for harmonious coexistence. Is a collective more than just everyday matters, or can it also be a source of inspiration and challenge?
Through a collaboration with the Museum of Art, Dom Mody Limanka has brought art from New York to Łódź, exploring the unique nature of working in a collective. It’s not just about problems related to housing, electricity, or bills—it’s also a fascinating journey into the world of performative reading.
