ANNA IS CALLING FROM JERUSALEM

Welcome to the world of my imagination, where art becomes a bridge between reality and dreams. It is an honor for me to invite you to revisit memories from my first painting exhibition, which took place in 2016. I called it “Anna Calls from Jerusalem,” which for me was not just a title, but a key to the mysterious garden of my art.
This extraordinary exhibition is a journey through my dreams, but don’t expect pastel-hued scenes or idyllic landscapes here. My brushes have become tools for capturing demonic nightmares and the shock of sleep. It was like entering a realm where the only language was painting—a panicked movement, a fall into the abyss, an escape from something that was at once close and elusive.
Have you ever wondered what lies behind the veil of sleep? Can something we perceive only as chaotic movement become art? I invite you to discover the answers with me.
“I’m running away! I’m running away, because to hell with everything—the devils, the devils, the devils have taken it all! I’m running away, I’m running away! And just then, as I was in the midst of my open escape and had almost reached the door… the devils take me again, the devils, and I think, ‘What the hell are you running from, what are you running from!’ I turned around and went back, walking through the entire living room, and everyone parted before me! Damn it, damn it, damn it all, Satan!
So I’m walking along, and I could have smashed some faces! But when I reached the wall, I turned around again and started walking back toward the door, because I thought to myself: better not to hit anyone. And just as I was almost at the door, I turned around again (because my walk had already turned into some kind of stroll through that parlor) and walked across the room once more… So there was general astonishment; mouths gaped open as they stared—maybe they think I’m half-witted, but the hell with it, the hell with it, I don’t care about a thing, and I walk as if I were here all alone, as if no one else were here! And my stride grows stronger, more powerful… and so, to hell with it, to hell with it, I walk and walk and walk, and now I’m walking, walking, and walking and walking…
And that’s just how I walk! People looked on with fear, because I don’t think anyone has ever walked like that at any party… so there, against the walls, crouched down like rabbits, some of them crawled under a piece of furniture, or used it to shield themselves… and I’m walking, I’m walking; and I’m not just walking anymore, but I’m walking so hard that my stride is like the devil’s, as if I’m going to smash everything… Oh, Jesus, Mary! Now they’re no longer themselves—tails tucked between their legs, bagpipes in their bellows—they’re just staring, and I’m walking and still walking, walking, and my stride is already rumbling like a bridge, damn it, damn it, and I don’t know what to do with this stride, because I’m walking, walking, and now it’s like I’m walking uphill, I walk and it’s hard, and hard, uphill, uphill—oh, what kind of walk is this? Oh, what am I doing? Oh, I must be walking like some kind of madman, walking and walking and walking, and they’ll surely take me for a lunatic… but I walk, I walk… and damn it, damn it, I walk, I walk"
