The Free Armada collection is a fascinating fusion of theatrical art and ready-to-wear fashion, created from materials salvaged from the production of theatrical costumes—such as sequins, carnival fabrics, jacquards, and velvets—as well as other stage elements. Designer Tomasz Armada, who was recently recognized by the American fashion magazine *Vogue*, decided to surprise his audience by organizing an extraordinary event in the backyard garden of designer Jakub Kępka
In contrast to traditional fashion shows on glamorous runways, the Free Armada presentation took place during the “Show in the Countryside.” The event was held in a secluded natural setting. The inspiration for this original event was the desire to create harmony between art and nature. The invited guests—both friends of the designer and people who were complete strangers to him—were brought together through social media, which played a key role in rallying everyone involved—from the models to the makeup artists and hairstylists, right down to the audience.
The show took place in a picturesque garden, where guests could admire the collection while sitting on blankets, surrounded by lush greenery; in the distance, a charming farmyard with chickens and horses added to the event’s idyllic atmosphere. The bold, theatrical designs offered a unique blend of stage art and street fashion, making these striking outfits wearable even in everyday situations.
“Show in the Countryside/Free Armada” captured the attention and admiration of both fashion enthusiasts and theater lovers. Tomasz Armada proved that fashion can transcend traditional boundaries and be close to nature and art. This exceptional event introduced a new, original dimension to the world of fashion, encouraging designers and audiences alike to embrace unconventional and exciting ways of presenting collections, expressing art, and showcasing individuality.
